Welcome to My Blog! Simple changes to find a healthier lifestyle.

Rise and Shine: A Drink to Start the Day at Roz Yoga Lifestyle

Hi I am Roz and I teach yoga classes to inspire leading a healthier lifestyle without it taking up too much of your precious time, This blog will be giving you yoga tips as well as ways to introduces recipie ideas, ways to incorporate yoga into your daily life and make it accessible and other topics that may be of interest.

I thought for a long time about what I should call my business.

For a while it was just my name and yoga and then I explored all different names that sounded 'yogic' but didn't really fit with me and what I wanted my classes to be or fit into busy lives and not just a blog about 'doing yoga' as it is so much more that touching your toes.

So Roz Yoga Lifestyle http://rozyogalifestyle.co.uk/ was born - Why? I believe that yoga is holistic and not just about attending yoga classes as a means of exercise, although of course it can be this tooand that is perfectly fine. It can also be something that can be integrated into your every day life, like getting up in the morning and making a cup of tea or brushing your teeth.

So they say it takes 21 days to create a habit? So do you need to go to a yoga class every day, no. Although by attending classes on a regular basis it can create a routine and in turn, create a space to learn and practice with a group or individually which you can bring elements from your class and do a home, it may only be 15 minutes at some point in the day. For me personally I like and have always liked a morning practice.

But its not just about doing yoga postures although that can help with stretching and getting the body moving. I like to bring in a healthy lifestyle, so just taking that time out sometime during the day just for you, that could be walking the dog, or just taking a walk alone to clear the cobwebs or maybe a drink to start the day .

Ideas to start create a new habit

  • get up 20 minutes earlier

  • spend this time if you can before anyone else rise to take that early morning walk, maybe do a short yoga practice or some simple breathing techniques to set you up for the day or just sit and enjoy the quiet of the day.

  • make a warm drink with hot water, add some chopped ginger, tumeric, slice of lemon or lime, a few whole or ground peppercorns, pepper aids the absorption of the tumeric which in turn can lesson inflamation in the body. To sweeten if you you wish add maple syrup, honey or blackstrap mollasses.
